You don't need the very high frequency services of Monday-Friday peak
hours at weekends, as the city and school commuters they serve are not
travelling in such huge numbers at such times, but it would certainly be
good to have the inter-peak service operating all weekends.

Here in Auckland we have a handy figure-8 bus service called The Link
which operates every 10 minutes in both directions round the 8 on
weekdays, yet every 20 minutes at weekends. But the shops and
entertainment areas it serves operate seven days a week. The Link should
be every 10 minutes on weekends too.
