Double 38's did in fact run last Easter, and yes 3801 did run to Young
as well on the BHP Youth Orchestra train.

What happened was, on Good Friday, 3830 piloted the BHP train as far as
Unanderra, via the Illawarra, as it was rostered to the Cockatoo train
for Easter. 3801 then continued up The Mountain to the Main South with
diesel assistance.

I posted a grab shot of this train in alt.binaries.picture.rail at the
tim, but I think it's long gone now
