Actually none!
The driver is there to drive.
For safety considerations he or she  is only required to be concerned with
the driving of the tram and the traffic.
Having a driver distracted by the fares, sections or ticket machines in
peak hour would be extremely dangerous. Neither would it be good for the
driver's nerves.
