National Rail Workings Gs & BLs

	G'day.

All care taken, but no final responsibility! A little bird has
whispered in my ear ...

1.	G518 departure from Acacia Ridge delayed until Thursday 19/3
on 5BS8, due out at 1500 hours, Broadmeadow 0744 Friday, Cowan 1002,
Thornleigh 1022/1150 (watch that one!) and into Trackfast Chullora at
1248. It is likely to continue south on 5SM5 ex Trackfast the same
evening at 1820, doubling with BL32 and an NR. There is a
possiblility only of it being a quad with G522 added. This will be
the las visit of these G class to Sydney, as parrently they are biehg
transferred to BROAD gauge. (Anyone know why, please?! My report
was for a repaint - to NR colours, but why on broad gauge?)

2.	G522 on MS4 into Trackfast Thursday morning, 0627 and is at
present to return south on SM5 the same evening. There is a remote
possibility that the unit may be held over to go on Friday night's
train with G518 above.

3.	BL class off the Adelaide-Melbourne corridor are being
transferred to the Sydney run to replace the G class. BL30 returned
south on SM5 tonight. BL32 due into Sydney on 5MS4 on Friday
morning, 0627 into Trackfast.

4.	Finally, there could be another motive power change for the
Indian within NSW (and South Australia). It seems that the NR on an
eastbound service last week failed en route to Broken Hill and it took
nine hurs to get a replacement engine from Port Pirie. The whisper
is, and it is an unconfirmed report only at this stage, that it could
become double DL class. Certainly, two NR class would be total
overkill - one NR looses time on the Mountains.

All care, but no responsibility!!!

Any colour prints of these workings suitable for "The Railway News"
greatly appreciated by snail mail to PO Box 85, Sutherland, 2232,
please !!!!

That's enough.

Pete.
