Sydey to Broken Hill is considered medium haul. Compare some short haul
commuter flights such as Sydney to Newcastle (Williamtown or Belmont) and
Sydney to Wollongong (Albion Park).

There was a small company which attempted a Warrnambool to Melbourne air
service just after WCR started. They only lasted a couple of weeks. The
flight was just ofer an hour Warrnambool to Moorabbin, but cost more than
a first class rail ticket.
