The mind set in Australia, and USA, is for flight rather than train.  There
is an assumption it's quicker than train.  In Europe on the other hand
there is more acceptance of train travel.  This is why fast trains have
been able to take away passengers form planes to some extent.  On
Paris-Lyon, for example, planes have been greatly reduced since the advent
of TGV services.

It will be very difficult for Amtrak and Australian operators to break the
mindset of business travellers.
