Bob

It seem you have a massive misunderstanding on the role of industrial
technology museums in society. The purpose of industrial technology
based museums is primarily to illustrate the use of the technology
concerned, not primarily to "stuff and mount" industrial technology.
The best way to demonstrate the use of rail artifacts is to operate
them on the rail system. Any operating technology artifact
illustrates its purpose much more memorably than does a stuffed and
mounted one, no matter how accurate it is (or ins't) to any particular
"point in time" of its past.

Fortunately the curators of our operational rail history understand
this, even if you don't.

And I encourage you to do some study of what history is! It doesn't
stop at arbitrary points in time. What happens today, is history
tomorrow.

Cheers,

Bill
