The time change would not be a problem, as it would be in the evening, and
arriving and departing an hour earlier would actually make it more
attractive.

One thing to consider though is that the cars off NT4 form NT1 - diverting
NT3 and NT4 through Brisbane would make NT4 a bit later into Sydney, thus
reducing the turnaround time - these cars do not have enough time now -
would this be desirable?

I had an article published in Railway Digest a few years back showing how
you can run two trains to BNE and one to MWH per day, while actually
increasing servicing time somewhat - I will redo it and post it to a website
in the next day or two (watch this space!)

When my IP went through Adelaide recently, I noticed plenty of rolling stock
in Keswick yard that looked as though it hadn't turned a wheel in years -
could some of that not be used?  They could reinstate part of the back
platform road as a dock platform and it could run from there.
