Re: Casino-Murwillumbah

It takes the XPT 2hrs 24mins to travel the 130km Casino-Murwillumbah
and 2hrs 34mins (just an extra 10 mins) to travel 178km Casino-Brisbane.
It is possible to use the existing timetable to have the Murwillumbah
XPT run to Brisbane instead. Seems like the only reason why it doesn't
happen is that passengers north of the border don't vote for NSW
politicians.

Maybe someone could run a connecting train service Casino to Brisbane
instead? It is a lot quicker that way (2hr 34mins) than going via
Murwillumbah. Casino to Brisbane via Murwillumbah presently takes
4hr 44mins. A connecting rail service Casino - Brisbane would save
2hrs 10mins.

But is Countrylink that forward thinking to save travel time for their
passengers? I doubt it.
