The Union is only as strong as the membership and thats not much! The Union
has been trying to get improvements made to crew compartments. The only way
to achieve anything quickly is for Train Crew not to leave Maintanence
Centres while a problem exsists. This is not done as they just get on, do a
continuity test and off they go. They only have themselves to blame. The
Union can put out notices that certain cars are banned but the majority of
Drivers and Guards don't read them or most of the other stuff the Union puts
out. Then the Union gets acused of doing nothing. It would make a huge
difference to get the support of the the membership.
