Yes, and why? well, the Tangara would get it's power to the track faster and get
on it's feet to build up the speedd quickly, also it doesn't have the dead
wieght of the 5 or 7 cars of the XPT.

With the XPT the engine would have to build up revs and transfer that to
current, then get that to the traction motors, and bye the time it got up and on
t's feet, the Tangara would already be far enough down the track to have a good
lead.
