Re: Multiple trains at level crossing

Anderson Rd (Bendigo Line)level crossing at Sunshine is a good all year
candidate. A S.G. train just at the right moment with peak traffic on the
B.G. can get 4 at a time pretty regularly. This causes absolute traffic chaos
if these booms clear just in time for a Ballarat line train on the other
Anderson Rd crossing.
For some reason the Ballarat line crossing of Anderson Rd is very poorly set
up. It has co-ordinated lights that lock out all traffic very early if a
train is signalled and then appears to get confused about where to start once
the train has gone. E.G. The cycle does not seem to start where it left off
before the train arrived but rather keep cycling in "secret" so that you
sometimes end up cycling the road that was last done before the train as soon
as the cycle is free to continue. As I said, chaos, if the other crossing
has also been closed for a train.
Do other co-ordinated crossings have a similar problem?
