If a particular qualification, e,g. the ability to speak clearly over a P.A.
system, is a requirement for a job, then it is NOT discrimination to reject
someone who is, say, Italian on that basis. But you could equally reject a
white, native-born Australian for the same reason. The whole point of
discrimination law (and EEO, which I thought was compulsory learning in most
jobs nowadays), is that you do not ASSUME someone cannot do a particular job
because of their race, colour, sex, ethnicity etc.
