Re: (NSW): Olympic Timetable (15/9)

The extra time added to the 'tables is resulting in waiting at major
stations for the 'table to catch up. This is particularly noticeable in the
City Railway where North Shore, City Circle and ESR services all have
considerable extra time to allow for extended station dwells.

Phase two of the Olympic TT stress test starts today of course with a full
range of Olympic events. The real fun starts on Monday with the full range
of events + a working day (albeit in school hols).

All the sparks I saw through Bexley North early (one of those pesky
early/late terms again) pm yesterday were sprinting. No doubt the 2 tracks
Central - Macarthur via East Hills still poses it usual operational
challenges with a minute or two to be made up here and there. Earth works
between Turrella and Beverly Hills continued apace yesterday for the extra
tracks - here's hoping whilst excavating that the contractors don't get
touchy feely with signal cabling.

I also noticed yesterday that the STA (State Transit Authority) has
cancelled a stack of bus services for complete routes to provide buses to
the ORTA (Olympic Roads and Transport Authority). Routes cancelled included
(from memory) 300, 350, 352 (good for the AL) 100, 140 + several others.
