Actually, the taxi industry has been known to call for late night
trains, at least when major events are on. When people couldn't get
home from the Bledesloe (sp?) Cup a few years ago, and the taxi
industry was criticised, they replied rather snippishly (and quite
correctly) that taxis aren't designed to move large numbers of people
in a short space of time, and who was the genius who decided not to run
the trains later?
