Although if you ask even the average user what they think of (microsoft's
implementation of) plug and play.... Actually I would say the average non-
technical computer user doesn't even worry/think much about plug and play,
what they want is a system which they can do their word-processing, spread
sheet, whatever on, which does the job reliably, easily and for them as
much as possible. If you set up a linux box with a decent word processor
and spread sheet and whatever with a pretty X-Windows login and desktop,
half of the 'average' computer users wouldn't know or care what OS they're
using. The difficult part is getting it all set up and working, which, at
the moment, is Linux's biggest hurdle, although some of the new versions
of things like Red Hat are supposed to be almost as easy to install in
this way as m$ windows (I haven't tried though).

That's the best way to do it, and well done for testing it with lynx.
