I was up Mudgee way 3 weeks ago. At that time the long viaduct into Mudgee
from the south was on the ground (ie demolished) with prelim works in place
for a new structure. Unless the replacement will be a prefab then it will be
a while. A lot of other smaller bridges alomng the line are being completely
renewed with ballast deck bridges and look fairly heavy duty. These bridges
are much more advanced then the Mudgee viaduct (some complete). Other timber
bridges are having some of the large timbers renewed. The track looks to be
getting 1/4 new steel sleepers.
