I though only rail fans were mad enough to record times in detail :)

I flew Adelaide - Hong Kong via Sydney in 1996 - I was supposed to fly
domestic to Sydney, the international, but the domestic "red eye
special" was cancelled so I had to fly international from Adelaide - not
only did this involve arrive at the airport at 4:30 am instead of 6:00
am there was a half hour hold on the ground in Adelaide "because of
congestion in Sydney" (at 6:00 am in the morning????) then about 3/4
hour in a holding pattern somewhere over Goulburn (air fan types will
know were I mean - I was told were it was but I forget) which the cabin
crew bore with as good a grace as befits a crew who had already been on
8 hours down from Singapore even before leaving Adelaide.    "Hopeless"
was a word that passed the lips of one steward.    I imaging all the
crew wanted to do was go home!
