Sounds like a good enough reason on its own to use gondola.

The term gondola certainly wasn't used in a corporate buff article in
Network.  It was a rather comprehensive article (5 parts from memory) on
Australian urban rail capacity with a very strong emphasis on Sydney.  I
haven't seen anything as detailed or interesting printed since then in a
publicly available railway magazine on Sydney urban rail.

Unfortunately the author wasn't named.

There was a time when Network was less spin and more genuine interest - such
as the article on a freight runaway on Cima Hill in the USA many years ago
which read like a thriller .  I doubt such an article would get a run in an
Aussie magazine these days.
