I cant see why or how FA will lose out of this.
Whilst they hold a current lease over the BG network the lessor , ie
Victrak cant do anything without their consent , or without paying
compensation.
Thats one reason why leases exist , to provide certainty for both
parties.
If I were FA though , I would support the conversion of BG lines to SG
on the condition that Victrak meet all directly attributable costs,
which would include FAs costs in guage conversion of its rollingstock.
This would also include Victrak paying FAs track access charges where
it now has to run over ARTC tracks where in the past it ran over its
own.
This would be the case if the BG line beyond Seymour was closed and
all traffic ran on the SG track.
