Re: Prime Minister in France

The frogs have the runs on the board...they are the standard for Intercity
travel...their system has been replicated in quite a few places now...witha
very good record of servicability. No operator of a TGV system complains too
much about the trains.

Now given the first system is to run primarily in New South...maybe Siemens
and their ICE would be a good choice...they have difficulty keeping trains on
tracks too (sorry couldnt resist!!)

What have the Japs done outside of Japan??....not a great deal..though I
believe they won the taiwan bid (yes/no??)

Now Im not getting nasty here, but if you have ever worked on a project in Aus
where japanese equipment is installed or modified...well lets just say the
project gets interesting...they ARE NOT good listeners!!:-(

My vote is for TGV...gen-4 equipment...350-400kph capable!!..proven....450 in
the near future...off the shelf!!

Im all for Alstom setting up shop here..they can build the rest as far as Im
concerned and build a technology base in this country and leverage it for the
whole region..then Oz is the real winner!! There is a real chance of
technology transfer with the French...love them hate them they are pretyy fair
engineers!! The Japs dont share ..period!!

id rather have French champagne..than Japanese sake!!
