Is there an 80 kph path for a steam railfan tour to Cobram or Tocumwal? The last proper
railfan trip to Cobram was in 1998 when the ARE ran a tour to Cobram and Dookie with
SRHC's DRC. I think the last railfan tour to Tocumwal was run by the ARE when they
extended the normal Shepparton pass which had N cars. I'm not sure of the date of this
trip. I think a steam (or even diesel) hauled tour with wooden cars to either of these
destinations would be as good as any other possible tour in Victoria and I know I would
book on it if it was run properly with as many photostops as possible. Maybe the ARE
could run a similar tour to the 1998 Dookie/Cobram and Oaklands tours by travelling on
the normal pass from Melbourne to Seymour and then running the tour from Seymour to
Cobram or Tocumwal with J515 and SRHC's wooden cars.
