If it is still running. Apparently it does not meet new FRA guidelines for
structural strength, which changed after they started building them. Amtrak
has applied for an exemption under the grandfather clause to enable them to
keep running. The old standards, under which they were built, are still
higher than those applicable anywhere else in the world, but then with the
United States being litigation mad, it is probably not surprising that
Amtrak and the FRA are trying to caover their posteriors.
You can read Amtrak's submission in misc.transport.rail.americas
