AFAIK the power feeder was put through in the mid to late 1950s, as part of
the duplication of the Alamein line and the Glen Waverley line: the one
substation could be used to enhance power supply on both routes.

Other readers have noted that Black Bridge survived to the 1940s.  There was
also an embankment, removed to make the golf course more playable.
