NZ political party ACT New Zealand has called for massive spending on
roads to solve Auckland's transport problems. It said that public
transport is not a viable solution, and a program of toll road
construction similar to Melbourne should be implemented.
Meanwhile, the NZ Green Party has called for a major funding boost to
public transport in Auckland and Wellington, and a 5 year moratorium on
urban motorway building.
