Let me get this straight: They shouldn't have renumbered the platforms because
if the Parramatta to Chatswood rail link was approved (which wasn't guaranteed
back in 1995) then 10 years later some brand new platforms would need the
numbers.

Exactly how much foresight and crystal ball gazing ability do you expect the
railways to have?
