aus.rail creation date

I've been trying to find the original newgroup message, but ISC only
archived the global authoritative newgroup sent out by kre many months
later (May 1993). This puts the original creation date almost exactly 7
years ago.

Now, can anybody remember the date that a Steamrail train was attacked
with buckets of paint out on the Hurstbridge line? aus.rail was created
on the Friday before that weekend.
