I bet that doesn't happen every night. Guard or not, they will still try it..
The last time I caught a train in Melbourne (June 99), the CCTV monitors on the
stations had automatic roller doors over them, as the train entered the platform,
the shutter went up to expose 4 monitors (in color), as it passed the signal, it
went down. This, plus extra video surveillance keeps 'vandals' at bay (not
completely, but reasonably), and gives the friver a view of his train without
having to leave his seat.
