The NZ Police have a new computer system called Incis. The Government
pulled out of the contract at the end of stage 1, after spending
$NZ100M+. Threats of court action followed (from both parties) and
each party settled out of court with the other. IIRC the Government
came out a few million dollars ahead.

AFAIK Incis does not provide access to the existing Wanganui computer
system, although that.was part of the plan. According to users, data
that once took a few minutes to enter, now takes 30+ minutes.

Probably a coincidence but guess who the contractor was............
