Reminds of an incident at Blackburn in the Seventies a down Bayswater goods
was shunting when they kicked shunted a couple of loaded briquettes wagons
when the guard accidentally misplaced his footings only to see the wagons run
along to the buffer stop. Only trouble there though was the siding ran
through a car park and that end of it never saw a train it was covered by
gravel so people parked their cars over it, what a surprise they had when
they came home that night.
