I rang Dick Smith at York Street once, and was told the part I needed was
there.  I caught the train into town to get it, only to find they did not have
it after all.  There was one at North Sydney according to the computer, so they
suggested I go there.  I went there, only to find that that store had closed 2
hours earlier!  Why didn't they tell me that in town?  I then got the number for
Gore Hill, and they assured me that they had the part, and they were open.  I
went all the way up there, and found that the part was not what the computer
said it was.  I guess Countrylink aren't the worst at customer service after
all!
