As to which, the northerly alternative is looking a better bet than
the southerly which would necessitate a bridge over the heart
of Lane Cove River Park. A pity because the southerly would
enable stations at Delhi Road and UTS Kuring-gai. There is
also talk of a St.Leonards rather than Chatswood connection
because it would have the least objectionable Lane Cove River
crossing and its works could be combined with the missing link
between the M2 and the Gore Hill freeway.

An underground northerly river crossing involves a steep climb
to Chatswood. That climb would be minimised by having
underground platforms at Chatswood.
