When I win the Powerball Jackpot.....

How about a new Sydney to Lithgow speed record? Using a steam loco?

Given a thorough overhaul, how fast could 3801 go?!

I'll use Talgo Pendular carriages, with lightweight alloy construction.
Fit fire hose connectors to the tender so the local BFB's can fill her up
fast.
Front end loaders for the coal.

How about an oil-fired boiler? With computer controlled combustion? If the
computer knew the details of the route, & had GPS to keep track of its
position, it could ensure there was always just enough steam, whilst keeping
fuel consumption & emissions to a minimum.
