AFAIK the new track arrangements at Heidelberg will be as follows:

          /---------------\
 --------/  2222222222222  \
UP END      1111111111111   ---------------- DOWN END
 ---------------------------/

i.e. no points at the up end for flexibility, no sidings for emergencies.
