That's all very well for the home PC... but what about storage space
at the news server at your local ISP?  If everyone posts in HTML the
storage required would go up by a factor of 10!  That means articles
being purched earlier or a limit in the number of newsgroups carried
of charges going up.  Also associated with this is the cost of the
data to ISP's, all who pay for volume of data from their upstream
providers.
