Misadventures on SL15/16

SL15/ SL16 Sydney to Griffith passenger service had some unusual
loco working this weekend, owing to the failure of originally
rostered train engine 42220 at Moss Vale on the Down journey on
Saturday morning. (Apparent cause was temperature alarms).

Arrangements were made to take 8113 off an Up wheat - this was the second
unit behind an 82, necessitating some complex shunting. (The
Countrylink crew weren't qualified for the 82 class.)

8113 headed south, running about an hour late. At Cootamundra,
4882 + 4866 were added in the lead, so on arrival at Junee the
consist was 48/48/81, plus three passenger cars and powervan.

The 81 was detached, and the two 48's took the train to Griffith,
and return to Junee this morning. From Junee, a new 81, 8155,
hauled the train back to Sydney. Total of 5 locos of 3 classes
for the return trip!

Cheers,
