Continually, we see CityRail station staff answering regular 'bungs' for
misdemeanors. Last week I was pulled off my normal duties, as a sector
manager's nose got out of joint - 'that I was unfit for duty', basically
standing up for one's rights and not putting up with heavy handed
'control freeks'. I am able to see middle management close-up as I
was 'marched' down to the lost property office. the lost property
office is next door to the sector office and I'm dealing with public
enquiries. Each time I enter the sector office, I see empty manager
chairs.
Workers' disputes on administration/compo issues can grab me in the lost
property office. So far, several have taken the opportunity and it has
been positive.
