Re: Melb.Australia Rolling stock

Bob Exnarc still feels that double-deck unloading is measurably slower than
single deck unloading.
Possible fixes:
* There is enough length in the platform-level mezzanine section to provide
even wider doorways.
Paris Metro got station stops down to 10 sec (Melbourne claims an average
of 20 sec).
* This was assisted by multiple doorways per vehicle (but with greater
amounts of on/off transfer than in Melbourne), and by a blaring klaxon
warning people that the doors with specially sharpened edges would close
NOW; stand back and wait for the next train (quite acceptable where the
next would be within 5 min).
* Preannouncing stops, with the reminder to move to the doorway now to be
ready to alight.
