The TVM2s (big ones) have a space for that (a grey plastic area, just big enough to
put a credit card on). This is for Metcard Express. Metcard Express will be
touch-card technology. When you want to 'recharge' your Metcard, it is just a matter
of placing the touch-card there and deciding what you want. The BOMs (Booking Office
Machines) also have this capacity.
With Metcard Express, to validate, the ticket only has to be passed by the yellow
dot on a Validator. This can even be done through a wallet/pocket.
Metcard Express is still in the experimental stage and will be released soon.
