The South Gippsland Railway runs driver experience courses. AFAIK to
do a steam course you must do a diesel course first. I don't think
that they have an operable steam loco at the moment. They do have
diesel locos and railcars. I do not have their contact details.

The Victorian Goldfields Railway runs driver experience courses also.
They are based at Maldon in central Victoria. There is no requirement
to do a diesel course before the steam one. Normally VGR have two
steam locos operable - a coal-fired K and an oil-fired J. Contact them
c/o Secretary, CMRPS, Hornsby street, Maldon, VIC 3463.
