Only a guess but AFAIK acceleration would be better (more kW); top
Speed less (140 vs 160); fuel consumption probably better; and
maintainence costs slightly less (newer equipment).
The max speed loss would really only be noticable on the south. This
EL+XP combo should be okay for North coast services.
