I think they've been mothballed awaiting the whims of the new owners
of VLF; the successful tenderer is to be announced "REAL SOON NOW".

If the new operator starts to get new business and needs extra locos,
a refurbished T or X or S or even Y may give him the HP he needs in a
hurry before they check out new or less used locos elsewhere (then of
course Paul Moore is in the wings waiting to provide Ts, Js and GMs to
the new operator).

At least it's sensible of VLF to hold these locos to await the
requirements of the new operator.

It might even make sense to park a cheap paid up loco in a regional
centre for emergency use; or give one (eg a Y) to a major industrial
customer to allow them to do their own shunting.... the possibilities
are endless for an aggressive operator out to get and expand business.
