Re: [VIC] Enthusiast Tours vs Tourist Trips (was: high speed tours (was: [VIC] R766 and R711 Ballarat tour.))

Hi,

I just realised after that post that they were most likely some sort of
standard mobile phone. I remember about 4 years ago now installing analogue
payphones into rent-a-cars as part of my work experience. They were
different to these ones, in the fact it was just a standard mobile handset
with a credit card swipe to one side.

Anyway, I won't be sorry to see AMPS go. AMPS lost me about 3 years ago
when it started getting harder and harder to use to the point that it took
no less than 10 tries to call my analogue phone and actually get through
while I was at home (back then, right at the top of the hill in Reservoir.
No GSM phone ever had such problems there). I was sorry to see my AMPS
phone go though, since I had just about the best phone number. Alas, CDMA
from my experience so far isn't too crash hot either (i.e. audio cuts out
if there is a bit of background noise on the other end) and if Telstra are
going to get the coverage expected from it by the time AMPS is shut down,
they better hurry, they have a lot to go (leave the suburbs, and your dual-
mode CDMA phone will switch across to AMPS, even in some suburban areas).

Where I mentioned two mobile phones that didn't work, I was referring to
Optus and Vodafone :)

Anyway, this is enough off topic stuff from me.

Regards
Michael

What is the point of having quotes at the end of your .sig?
