Not just Grain hoppers but all Victorian Rolling stock, and some locomotives
too!
It has something to do with the replacing/maintenance of the bearings, the
colours symbolise a period in time which is an easy reminder for maintenance
staff to do their thing.
I first saw this in the SG yard at South Dynon years before NR I guess we
borrowed this idea from Freight Rail
