With the changes in football, we have seen the demise of special tram
sidings at Essendon, and Lakeside Oval, and heaps of additional tram
services to serve suburban grounds. Special trams still serve Optus Oval and
the MCG.

There are still special trains waiting at Richmond after games at the MCG
and South Geelong after games at Kardinai Park.

The demise of Waverley Park will mean the end of the football special buses
from Gen Waverley.

Colonial Stadium, the new home of the mighty Bombers (and a few other
insignificant teams) adjacent to Spencer Street Station will see a change in
the travel habits of footy fans. How will trams and trains cope with
simultaneous games at Optus, Colonial and MCG?
