To be fair to Ventura, some weekend rail replacement services I have seen
have used their low floor or other modern buses with the dot matrix
destination screen showing 'Rail Bus'. Can relate though, Bell Street Bus
often get Epping line contracts and use their old Leyland Tigers. Should
improve soon, they don't have too many old buses any more and judging by the
condition of the one parked nearest the fence in Bell Street in their depot,
they seem to be stripping at least one for parts (still goes, they turned it
round last week so all the holes where they have taken panels no longer
faced the fence for school kids to throw things into.
