Come on guys, I was joking (hence the smiley).

I agree with you although from memory, at the time, there was some complaint
from the unions that the fibreglass front on the Comeng was much less safer
for the driver than the heavy pointed front of the Hitachis.

Having seen pictures of both Taits in a crash (from the book Victorian
Railway Disasters by Marc Fiddian) and Comengs / Hitachis in a crash (same
book plus being old enough to remember most accidents in the last 10 years),
I'll take the modern train every time too.
