Metcard Logic

I bought 5 daily tickets from the machine at Melb Central
I look at the ticket number (on front) and the issue time:

time:    ticket number:
7:45      28593206
7:45      28593205
7:46      28593204    
7:46      28593203
7:47      28593202

Now, that was the order I bought them and the times back 
this up.

So why do the ticket numbers decrease?

Metcard Logic (I don't think there is any logic at all)?
