Sorry I should have added to that, I did not mean
capability to move freight, QR does exceptionally well
considering it is narrow gauge, I was referring to the
SG network which connects all of our capital cities.

QR is not "directly" involved in the present upheaval
and uncertainty that exists on the Standard Gauge.

I understand that big changes may come to QR, but
somehow I doubt the major Qld political parties will
allow interstate or overseas outfits to run on their
system.  Still you never know.

BTW. we get Ch10 TV from Townsville and guess what?,
Rob and Pete were up there, and the ALP has promised to
move the Townsville railway workshops and employ more
people if elected.  As I have said in the past, the
only time railways rate with state pollies is when an
election is due.!
