I can't see even an XPT doing Sydney to Brisbane via Moree in daylight.

4'8.5" to 5'6" is easier to do on the fly than standard to narrow gauge.

Ideally there should be a new standard gauge line built from Moree to
Brisbane. Through traffic to Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth could go via
Dubbo and Parkes. This would take some pressure off the north coast line.

This is assume it actually gets biult. At the moment it's on a proposal.
